Welcome to The Official Ginger Baker web-site! Ginger Baker, the legendary jazz percussionist and sometime Hellraiser, who won critical acclaim early the 1960s when touring the UK with The Graham Bond Organisation. In 1966, he teamed up with GBO bassist Jack Bruce and up and coming guitarist Eric Clapton, formed Cream and shot to fame with such classic songs as Sunshine of Your Love and White Room. Cream took the USA by storm, but in-fighting and constant touring led to an early split in 1968. In 1969, Cream was followed by the first super-group, Blind Faith, featuring Eric Clapton, Steve Winwood & Rick Grech; but a massively tour beginning with the first free concert in Londons Hyde Park and a controversial album cover was the extent of their output. Ginger Baker then formed big-band Airforce (1970), went to Africa and continued a long and eventful career that now sees him back in the UK with his band Ginger Bakers Jazz Confusion. A new award winning movie Beware of Mr. Baker |
